Teen Drinking Forums

 

Thanks to all who participated in our teen drinking forums this year. We were given a wide range of information which we believe will help our students when dealing with critical decisions concerning the use of alcohol. From the feedback we have received it seems some teens did not seem to think much was accomplished, but they can quote some of the more salient points presented on alcohol poisoning. Aren’t we tricky. We have collected some of the materials handed out and they are linked below.

Texas PTA will be on KHOU regarding teens and drinking.  Please tune in. This Thursday morning, August 2nd, and next Saturday evening, August 11th, KHOU, Houston's CBS affiliate, will spotlight Texas PTA's Party 101: Consequences program regarding the hazards of teen drinking.  These broadcasts are made possible thanks to the strong support of Tara Energy.    On Thursday the 2nd from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, Great Day Houston will devote their entire show to the topic of teen drinking.  Texas PTA President Michelle Humphreys will appear on camera to talk about why Texas PTA is so concerned about the epidemic of teen drinking in Texas.    On Saturday the 11th from 7:00 - 8:00 PM, KHOU will broadcast Party 101: Consequences, a hard hitting documentary that addresses the real stories of teens making choices that resulted in life altering consequences.    In addition to viewing these broadcasts, please incorporate the Party 101: Consequences project into your community by signing up for a free workshop and/or requesting a free DVD.  Click here for more information about the Party 101: Consequences project and to get started.   Party 101: Consequences is a joint project of Texas PTA and the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT).  Houston support is provided by the Independent Insurance Agents of Houston (IIAH). Free DVDs and the KHOU broadcasts are made possible by DVD Replication Sponsor Tara Energy.  Postage is sponsored by Coca Cola.
